Main Field(s) of Research, Abstract
Injury to adult tissues initiates a series of events, which finally lead to at least partial reconstruction of the injured body site. These processes are controlled by cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions as well as by a wide variety of soluble mediators. The analysis of the molecular and cellular mechanisms, which underlie tissue repair processes is the major focus of our research. In particular, we study the role of growth factors in epithelial repair and their mechanisms of action in epithelial cells.
