Thank you for your interest in the Cancer Network Zurich and the Cancer Biology PhD program.
Group leaders who wish to become members of the CB faculty apply in writing to the program's steering committee. Applicants submit to the coordinator of the program a pdf including a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research interests and a cover letter detailing why they wish to join the program.
Applicants are accepted to the program if they fulfill the following criteria:
- Independent group leader position at the UZH, the ETH or in the hospitals.
- Excellence in research.
- Scientific interests in an area of cancer biology.
- Evidence of competitively-reviewed independent funding (i.e., grant from the SNF, Oncosuisse, etc.). For newly starting group leaders, this requirement is waved for the first year of membership.
- Willingness to participate in the teaching of PhD students and/or in the self-administration of the program.
Duties of faculty members:
CB program faculty members agree to participate, on a rotating basis, in the running and self-administration of the program. Faculty members can participate in one or several of the following activities and committees:
steering committee, admissions committee, teaching of PhD level courses to CB students, participation on thesis committees of CB students.
