Prof. Dr. Niggli Felix
Main Field(s) of Research, Abstract
The laboratory focus on cytogenetic evolution in various childhood tumors and leukemia.
& We are studying diagnostic and prognostic markers in embryonal
tumors and childhood leukemia. This also includes minimal residual
disease techniques in leukemia by quantitative PCR, subclass prediction
in pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia using gene expression
profiling, investigation of the relationship between genetic events in
childhood embryonal tumours.
& Furthermore in collaboration with our colleagues in infectiology
we establish Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) whole genome expression profiling
in EBV-associated lymphomas.
& In collaboration with colleagues in DKFZ Heidelberg we are developing a Wilms tumor mouse model.
Main Fields of Research, Keywords
Cytogenetics, embryonal tumours, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, minimal residual disease, micro array, lymphoma, EBV
Special Techniques and Equipment
A highly multidisciplinary spectrum of methods is established in the
group including molecular biology, cytogenetics, FISH, FACS, real time
PCR, microarray technologies
Education and Training
We have training opportunities for PhD- and MD- students and MDs interested in the research topics mentioned above.
